Ashanti Shequoiya, better called Ashanti, is a popular American singer and actress. Ashanti is an United States singer, songwriter, and actress. Ashanti was famous when she was when she was a teen. In 2002, she was signed to Murder Inc. Records. Ashanti was featured as Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ja Rule's single, Always On Time and Fat Joe's What's Luv? She became the first female artist to hold the highest two positions on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at number one and Luv? at number two. Luv? second place. Let's celebrate this momentous occasion together. Ashanti Douglas or Ashanti as she is more popularly known, was born in Glen Cove New York in 1980. Tina Douglas' mother was a dance instructor as was Ken-Kaide Douglas. The mother of the Ashanti Douglas was a singer. Kenashia Shai Douglas is her younger sister. She is the oldest of them all. Douglas chose her name in honor of the Ashanti Empire located in Ghana where women held power and influence and Douglas would like Ashanti to model that same pattern. The singer played Latasha on Army Wives and starred in the movie Christmas in the City. Aitch was an British rapper sampled her song Rock wit U for Baby on March 10, 2022.
